EPIPHANY (a quick second visit)

 As a rejoinder to my recent post on EPIPHANY ...... it was a week or two after I made said post when a cousin of mine texted me that they were going to dine at the resto. (they probably read it here or that I verbally mentioned it to them during our christmas reunion). Anyway, they asked me if I could join them and I said yes though I did say I would be late since I was to be coming from another part of the metropolis.

I arrived a quarter past 9:00pm and my cousins had already finished their main course...... since I was already there, I decided to just try an appetizer dish as well as a dessert.

Tea Smoked Squid



Not much of a smokey flavor, but one does get a hint of tea flavor on the squid. Stand alone, the squid doesn't really hold its own. But mixed it a bit with the tomato salsa and it does taste better. Though overall this was one dish I did not enjoy.


Ovaltine Kulfi



Looks like a cube of chocolate ice cream ???? Tastes more like frozen chocolate mousse ........ and (coming from someone who's not fond of desserts) this is one good piece of frozen chocolate mousse.

I wasn't sure if they actually used the popular Ovaltine one buys in the groceries, but I was quite impressed with the very rich and chocolatey flavor of the dessert. I think it was good enough even without the watered down strawberry syrup/sauce. And oh, the sugar glazed banana fritters were good too.
