145 Degrees FAHRENHEIT

MUSHROOM RAGU

Its just plain cream of mushroom soup (some different colored garnishes woud have made it more appetizing to look at), The addition of some mushroom bits gives it a nice texture but overall flavor is a little too subtle. Nonetheless its a good start.

CHICKEN & MUSHROOM PENE (I forgot what its actually called)

My initial thoughts was to order a tomato based pasta (just to give our meal more acid and to neutralize the heaviness of the cream soup and the steak) but since my companion is quite partial to cream based pastas, we went for this one. (a recommendation by the friendly server)

I didn't taste much of the chicken (perhaps a slight charr would have given it a more smokey flavor) so all I got was a lot of thick and heavy (on the stomach) cream.

EYE OF RIB EYE STEAK

I had a lot of issues with this dish ......

1.) I'm quite surprised there are no side dishes in the plate. (perhaps some salad or mashed potatoes). But hey, if the steak itself can stand on its own, then I shouln't be complaining right ?? (I actually wouldn't consider two stems of asparagus as a side dish)

2.) the steak is too thin. I mean I don't mind a smaller looking steak so as long as I get at least a one-inch thick steak.

3.) I ordered for medium-rare and I got me a rare steak. (I actually like rare steaks except that my companion doesn't)

4.) the steak is so watery that its literally swimming in its own juices (I had to ask the server for another plate just so that I could transfer the meat) I mean we all like tender juicy steaks, but a soggy one ???? (they probably did not rest the steak before serving)

5) the steak is way too salty ...... now I like a little salt and pepper crust on the steak, but this one was just way too overseasoned (we encountered several big pieces of salt crystals). Now this is the part where a veggie salad or some mashed potatoes would help lessen the saltiness, but unfortunately we had none.

CHOCOLATE MOUSSE

Just to wash away the over saltiness of the steak, we ordered a dessert to share. The server recommended the chocolate mousse and in fairness, it wasn't overly sweet. Though I had to admit it wasn't going to be one of those desserts that was going to blow me away. (considering I'm not a dessert person, its going to take a whole lot more to impress me)

Overall the place looks nice, the service is good but if I'm going to be served mediocre food...... then I might as well settle for some of the cheaper style steakhouses that has been quite popular in the metropolis.
